Why Schools for India

Poverty and Illiteracy existed for thousands of years and may exist for another thousand years.
While many debate to eternity on what can we do about it, I also attempted to see what I should do about it.
It came to my mind in January 30,2004 that I should build schools in every village and i wrote in a note book that I will build schools across India.
The seed eventually grew in to an organization called Schools for India with a mission to build 6000 schools across India.
Where the spirit of enquiry is fostered, and the children grow up with out the fear to ask questions, find answers which lead them through out their lives.
The Schools shall be the entry point for social transformation with in a community.
Like the grand old temples, Schools for India, shall spread the knowledge and create communities who will respect each other and learn to live fearless and just lives.
We will teach the children to learn to follow their hearts, build things of their own free will, create endless possibilities through their ability to dream.
I will write my views and plans on what and how we are working on to create this knowledge power house across India in the coming days.
